Taking over her family estate in 1993, and simultaneously becoming the youngest female winemaker in the appelation, Christine Dupuy has taken
Labranche Lafont from strength to strength. With 17ha given over to the production of Madiran wines, including a small parcel of low yielding pre- phylloxera Tannat vines, Christine produces concentrated and elegant styles from an area where "bruising" wines are common. With deep blackcurrant, dark cherry and liquorice flavours, this is rich and ripe, and finishes with a lovely herbal character.
