The dinner jacket was invented on Savile Row, and quite possibly perfected in Italy at the hands of
Giorgio Armani. This sleek jacket from the legendary label is quite close to the very first one ever made, Edward VII’s midnight blue number, but instead of silk it’s made from velvet. A wide shawl collar, padded shoulders, double-breasted button fastening; it's got it all. Wear with black trousers with a satin trim and, of course, a white dress shirt.
