The
Dolç Mataro by
Alta Alella is a fantastic dessert wine made of late-harvest Mataró grape, and vinified in a style similar to Port. The grapes are left ripening on the vine and the harvest takes place just before the grapes begin the drying process. The maceration takes place in stainless steel tanks for six months in order to obtain a maximum extraction of colour. The result is an organic sweet red wine with notes of candied plums, dried figs, Italian cherry tomatoes, orange peel and Japanese green tea. On the palate it is creamy with an original tannic-acid-sweet balance.
