Colette Steckel takes inspiration from the Mexican half of her French-Mexican heritage for the
Penacho necklace (which is brought to us by the never-failing
Alkemistry). The piece—made from 18ct yellow-gold, mother-of-pearl, onyx and white diamonds—is inspired by the headdresses of Aztec warriors who worshipped the god of sun and war Huitzilopochtl. The name means ‘hummingbird of the left’.
