THE SKATEROOM

THE BRAND STORY

The Skateroom’s story begins with founder Charles-Antoine Bodson, who was inspired, after seeing the work of NGO Skateistan, to set up a creative social enterprise that combined art with skateboarding. The Skateroom’s business model pledges at least 10% of its revenue to social skate and education projects all over the world. By making additional unrestricted funding promises to certain projects, The Skateroom was able to pass its milestone of 1-million-dollars-in-funding in 2020, with plans to accelerate even further. Featuring work from some of the world’s most influential artists – from Raymond Pettibon to Jenny Holzer, Yoshitomo Nara and Paul McCarthy – The Skateroom’s editions are a brilliant alternative to your typical framed art print. (And no knee pads required.)

THE DESIGN ETHOS

“We believe art should be accessible to all. We believe skateboarding can change the world.”

THE CULT-FAVOURITE PIECES

SERAX

THE BRAND STORY

The brainchild of Belgian brothers Serge and Axel Van Der Bossche, Serax was humbly born in their garage over 30 years ago. In that time, it’s become the favoured dinnerware among Michelin chefs, and is known as much for its craftmanship and design as its much-coveted partnerships, including collaborations with the likes of chef and food writer Yotam Ottolenghi and Belgian fashion designer Ann Demeulemeester.

THE DESIGN ETHOS

A focus on traditional handicraft, each product is manufactured exclusively by skilled artisans and craftsmen. Serax has embraced the philosophy of Wabi Sabi or the Perfect of Imperfection – as every object is handmade, you’ll find that no two pieces are ever the same.

THE CULT-FAVOURITE PIECES

To invest in a Serax classic, opt for either the Meo – an iron fruit basket designed by Palermo-born Antonino Sciortino – or a piece from the Desirée porcelain collection, designed by Roger Van Damme with lashings of powdery pink, cobalt-blue accents and gold trim.
