The 12th century Castello
Romitorio is located on a hilltop overlooking the Val d’Orcia by
Montalcino. Surrounded on three sides by thick oak forests, the castle sits at an altitude of 450 metres. It was purchased (for 5 paintings!) by Italian painter Sandro Chia in 1983 and the first wine was bottled in 1985. A classic Brunello, this
wine features dark cherry and saddle leather notes, fresh herbs and ripe red fruits.
