The EOS R6 V is a full-frame mirrorless camera built around a video-first workflow for creators, filmmakers and livestreamers. Positioned at the top of Canon’s EOS / PowerShot V-Series range, it combines internal 7K RAW recording, open gate capture and advanced autofocus inside a compact, handheld-friendly body.

The 32.5MP full-frame sensor supports oversampled 4K recording at up to 120fps, while Canon Log 2 and Log 3 provide extensive post-production flexibility. Features including active cooling, waveform monitoring, proxy recording, four-channel audio and vertical shooting support make it well suited to modern hybrid content creation.
Real-world handling benefits from the lightweight body design, effective image stabilisation and responsive autofocus tracking, helping creators move quickly between handheld shooting, interviews, livestreaming and social-first production workflows.
Video-First Design
Built specifically for content creators, the EOS R6 V features a lightweight 688g body with direct-access video controls for faster operation during filming. Dedicated controls include a front-facing record button, livestream shortcut button and integrated zoom lever, reducing the need to dive into menu systems while shooting.
Customisable controls allow quick access to frequently used settings, while the built-in tally lamp gives instant visual confirmation when recording is active. A 3.5mm microphone input and headphone monitoring output are included for external audio workflows.
Handheld Ergonomics
The compact body design and deeper grip improve comfort and stability during extended handheld shooting sessions, especially when working without a gimbal or shoulder rig.
Canon’s in-body image stabilisation system delivers up to 7.5-stops of correction, helping minimise shake during handheld filming, walking shots and static compositions when using both stabilised and non-stabilised lenses.
Advanced Video Recording
The EOS R6 V supports internal 7K/60p open gate recording using the full 3:2 sensor area, allowing creators to crop and reframe footage for both horizontal and vertical delivery from a single capture.
Oversampled 4K recording is available at up to 120fps without cropping, while Full HD and 2K modes extend to 180fps for smooth slow-motion playback.
Internal RAW recording with Canon Log 2 supports up to 15+ stops of dynamic range, while Canon Log 3 offersflexible colour grading workflows for post-production. Additional video tools include:
