FRESCOBOL CARIOCA

Bring the vibrancy of Rio de Janeiro to your wardrobe with Frescobol Carioca. The brand takes its name from two of the city's most important elements: the playful spirit of the Carioca, its inhabitants, and frescobol, a type of beach tennis first popularised on its beaches back in 1945. Founders Harry Brantly and Max Leese began sharing their passion for Brazilian culture in 2013, inspired by the intrigue they created whilst playing the game on a trip along France's coastline.

We've picked our favourite shorts, shirts and surf-ready styles to bring that South American spirit to our Selfridges collection. As you might expect from a line aiming to capture Rio's energy, bright colours and popping prints are essential to the range. Soft cotton and lightweight linen are firm fixtures too, offering breathability on balmy days and a quick-drying effect should you catch a little sea spray.

Pick a pair of men's designer swim shorts in a zigzagging graphic pattern for an eye-catching effect on the shore. We've got both slim and sporty cuts, with stretchy waistbands and neat draw cords for a comfortable fit. Slide on a designer linen shirt in a regular fit to protect yourself from the rays. You'll spot contrasting colour buttons and neatly tailored cuffs that bring dashes of detail.
