There's only one label to be wearing when the weather bites – Canada Goose for men. The brand founded its men's clothing collection in 1957, with the purpose of making durable pieces to withstand the cold Canadian weather. And while it still does that, it now also produces items that work in your wardrobe all year round. If there's a star of trans-seasonal dressing, it has to be the Canada Goose gilet.

Hitting the right note between form and function, the label's men's gilets use high-tech insulation to keep the chill at bay. Wear one over a long-sleeved T-shirt or casual shirt in the milder weather and under your favourite parka in winter for extra warmth. Their sleeveless, quilted design comes filled with insulating goose down and feathers to keep things cosy while also being incredibly lightweight. 

You'll also notice zipped pockets, funnel necks and contrast-texture inserts on the sides. Of course, the embroidered circular chest patches proudly display the brand's signature logo, with its reverse image of the North Pole. When it comes to colour, you can either play it safe in classic shades of black and navy or stand out in brighter hues such as red and yellow.
