Founded in 1876 as a purveyor of orthopaedic elastic knits, the Chantelle brand has famously pioneered innovative fabrics - notably its Kretz tulle" - and refreshingly sensual silhouettes. Chantelle led the way in corset and girdle design, revolutionising women's intimates by inventing its own two-way stretch fabric for superior comfort and flexibility. Its first seamless, moulded-cup bra was produced as early as 1972.
