Urban-Centric Design
The GR IIIx Urban is designed to blend seamlessly into the city's surroundings. A unique texture has been created through a repeated and complex painting process that mimics the asphalt pavement. This paint job, while smooth, provides excellent grip, an essential function for street photographers. The surrounding navy blue ring cap evokes many a spotted sight of the azure sky reflected in a puddle after rain. The Urban Edition camera also comes with a black ring cap for a more discreet option.

New Exposure Mode
Snap Distance Priority Mode is one of the most substantial additions to this Urban camera. Set the snapshot distance and the depth of field ahead of time, and then instantly recall the setting at the exact moment required. DOF3, in particular, sets the f-stop so that the depth of field is close to pan-focus, for a faster shooting mode. A new 3.5-metre option has also been added to the Snap Focus Distance for this Urban Edition kit.

Auto-Area Autofocus
Focus on what matters with the option to set the auto-area AF to Centre. Working around the central 9 areas instead of the entire frame cuts out the margin for your camera to focus on unnecessary points.

Enable AF
Added to the Shutter Button Setting, it is now possible, thanks to Enable AF, that when the shutter button is pressed halfway, only the AF is locked without locking the AE.

New Menu Settings
Long tap the touchscreen playback screen to recall the Playback Settings. Handy for changing settings quickly and efficiently.

40mm Focal Length Equivalent
The GR IIIx has the same 26.1mm F2.8 lens as the GR IIIx, which is equivalent to 40mm in 35mm format. This focal length offers an angle of view almost identical to the humman eye, for a natural shooting perspective.

Steady Shooting
The 24.24MP APS-C CMOS sensor features sensory shift shake reduction which reduces the risk of camera shake due to vibration or movement. The 3-axis shake reduction system allows for up to 4-stops of exposure reliability.

Lightweight and Compact Design
The GR IIIx Urban is a pocketable camera, able to be brought up to the eye in a split second to capture the world around you. A super-fast start-up time of 0.8 seconds and control dials that are intuitively positioned allow the photographer to react to once-in-a-lifetime shutter opportunities. The rigid and durable magnesium alloy build improves the longevity of the GR IIIx whilst being carried and stored.

High-Resolution Touch Screen LCD Monitor
Featuring a 3-inch 1,037,00 pixel touchscreen LCD monitor, the camera is intuitive to use. An AI gapless design reduces reflections, allowing the monitor to be seen and used even in the brightest sunlight. The colour and brightness of the monitor can be adjusted to suit the user's requirements and a specially hardened glass surface protects against unwanted scratches and damage."
