Whistles’ Alvis ankle boots might be inspired by hiking styles, but we think it’s safe to say that they’re more suited to the city streets than any muddy trails. Crafted from grainy textured leather, the lace-up silhouette keeps things tough with metal eyelets and a treaded rubber sole, while the contrasting suede tongue is a subtle design detail that makes all the difference in taking them in a relaxed direction. Padded cuffs and pull loops remind us that they really are a utilitarian pair.
