Chateau Talbot in Saint-Julien Bordeaux; one of the largest estates in the region, it dates back to the 15th century and is now part of the Cordier family. It was first promoted as a fourth growth classification in 1855 by Emperor Napoleon III and continues to lead the appellations in the Medoc, moving with the times to adopt practices like emitting sound frequencies to encourage vine growth. Expansive and rounded, 2016’s expression is a ripe offering bursting with dark fruits, cedar and vanilla.
