Boy Smells grew out of real-life partners’ Matthew Herman and Davis Kien’s dalliance with candle-making in their kitchen; the pair decided to create a line of scents transcending the masculine/feminine gender binary. Part of the brand’s limited-edition Hypernature range, the Fleurshadow candle opens like a bouquet crafted from smoke. An explosion of sweet rose, geranium and violet, it’s spiked with darker notes of heady incense and benzoin.
