No footprint is quite as big as the mark Castañer made when it met with Yves Saint Laurent in the 70s. The duo worked together to launch the world’s first pair of wedged espadrilles, and it’s safe to say the history of footwear was changed forever. Today, the style is still an iconic part of the brand’s lineup, but the collection has made room for more. From sandals to espadrilles, each silhouette holds a piece of the label’s history, having been braided using machines invented in the house’s atelier nearly 100 years ago.
