Italy’s Piedmont region might be associated with Barolo or Barbaresco varieties from Langhe, but Giancarlo Travaglini grows the Nebbiolo grapes blended to create this bottle in Gattinara instead. After picking they’re matured in oak barrels for 36 months (did you know this is actually decreed by law? Learn something new every day) to create a distinctive rich, creamy palate. Spiced blackberry and plum are mellowed by smooth vanilla to create the structured bouquet of aromas.
