The much-loved Tun 1509 series is The Balvenie Malt Master David Steward’s opportunity to pick his favourite casks and blend them together. Batch no. 8 is made from a selection of 18 casks (four ex-bourbon barrels, six second-fill sherry butts, five refill puncheons and three first-fill sherry butts) that spent three months in a traditional marrying tun and offers notes of fresh lemon tarts, marmalade, maple syrup and marzipan.
