Following in his father Marc Colin’s footsteps, Joseph Colin has recently started producing wines under his own name. He believes that many vintners pick their grapes too late – and this Chassagne Montrachet is a strong argument in favour of his preferred harvest date. Its sweet, creamy nose gives way to notes of resin, orange zest, ripe pear and a tinge of petrol, while on the palate it’s all plump texture and a punchy finish.
