Specifically, Tales Of The Macallan Volume 1 – a 71-year-old whisky that pays homage to Captain John Grant, Laird of Easter Elchies (the distillery’s home). It's encased in an 800-page illustrated almanac, secret-hiding-place-style, then housed in a Lalique crystal decanter. And as you’d expect from a tipple distilled in 1950, it’s a complex beast: expect notes of sweet wood smoke and spice intermingling with yuzu, peach, melon, ripe plum and almond.
