Since taking the creative reigns of Bottega Veneta in 2021, Matthieu Blazy is on a mission to reconnect the label with its Italian pedigree, reworking and reimagining iterations of its most celebrated styles, starting with the iconic Intrecciato weave. However, on this pair of slender slingback courts, the diamond-shaped pattern is not woven at all – the buttery leather is carefully quilted and padded, from the ankle strap to the sharp, square toe. Mission accomplished, we say.
