Grown on Ornellaia’s estate situated at the foothills outside Bolgheri in Tuscany, the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes that are blended to create the Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia benefit from the Mediterranean’s sea breezes and shelter from harsh northern winds. As for the flavour? Winemaker Olga Fusari describes it as “berries, blackberry, raspberry and red cherry … accompanied by floral hints of wild rose and spicy notes of pink pepper and liquorice”.
