Extra-low dispersion (ED) glass makes this a reality by correcting the chromatic aberration that causes colour fringing, giving you images that are rich in contrast and high in resolution, for nuanced colours that are true to life. A high-quality multilayer coating is applied to all lenses and prisms – combined with a dielectric high-reflective multilayer prism coating on the roof prism to increase reflection – to improve light transmission for outstanding brilliance and natural colour fidelity. With light transmittance of 92% or higher, you’ll always get a superbly bright and sharp view. When birdwatching you’ll be sure you’re identifying the right colour, on city breaks you can enjoy the diversity of colours in urban facades, and when hiking or sailing you’ll see distant outcrops or coastlines in living colour.

The sleek magnesium alloy body weighs only 450 g, plus it’s waterproof and fog-proof to withstand the toughest conditions. The nitrogen-filled body resists water pressure to a depth of 5 m for 10 minutes, and prevents fogging inside the optical system even in low-pressure environments up to a height of 5,000 m. A scratch-resistant coating has also been applied to the objective lenses and the eyepieces for greater durability.
