Shafer Vineyards traces its beginnings to 1972 when John Shafer left a 23-year career in the publishing industry and moved with his family to the Napa Valley to pursue a second career in wine. We're glad he did, as we can enjoy this Shafer One Point Five alongside a prime cut of beef or game. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are grown along a sloping vineyard on the foothills of the Vaca Mountains and bring notes of dark berries, violet, and espresso.
