One of Spain's pre-eminent producers, Rafael Palacios is lauded for his white wines. Pressed mainly from Godello grapes that grow on the dizzyingly high hills of the Val do Bibei, his Louro is a complex, citrusy white that hits the glass with a pale straw colour, revealing faintly smoky notes of fennel and white peach on the palate. And if you were thinking of cooking up a generous Paella to serve alongside it, well, we'd hardly discourage you.
