Founded in 1864 by Don Eloy Lecanda y Chaves, Vega Sicilia has gone on to become one of Spain’s most prestigious estates. The winery’s Valbuena 5° 2016 vintage is produced from Tempranillo and Merlot grapes grown on 140 hectares of dedicated land. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, it’s matured in French and American barrels before moving onto oak vats for another year. It’s perfumed and juicy on the palate with clean flavours and fine tannins.
