Gymshark fans rejoice: the talked-about fitness and community brand has taken up permanent residency at Selfridges London and Selfridges Manchester Trafford. To celebrate its hotly anticipated arrival and the exclusive launch of its first-ever athleisure collection, everywear, here are 5 things to know about the brand.

1. Gymshark comes from humble origins

The idea for Gymshark was born where you see it the most: the gym. In 2012, founder Ben Francis developed an appetite for designing activewear after realising he couldn’t find any he actually wanted to wear. After setting up a studio in his parents’ garage in Bromsgrove, near Birmingham, the 19-year-old started to create fitted aesthetic gym gear using a sewing machine that would eventually turn his brand into one of sportswear’s brightest success stories.

2. Community is at its heart

Gymshark has led the way for influencer marketing. From the beginning, Gymshark has worked with fitness professionals and ambassadors to organically create a strong community that aligns with its values and reach new audiences. Today you’ll find that it includes an impressive line-up of athletes, such as Olympic gold medallist and boxer Katie Taylor, personal trainer Whitney Simmons and boxer Francis Ngannou to boot.

To foster a unique space for serious innovation with the ability to expand its seamless designs, creating more sustainable yarns for game-changing pieces that offer better comfort, flexibility and performance.
