OUR CHARITY PARTNERSHIPS

We’re committed to changing the way we shop to create a more sustainable future for people and planet, and we believe one of the best ways to achieve this is by collaborating with national and local organisations that share our values to create positive change. Together with our charity partners, (Oxfam, Centrepoint and The King’s Trust) our team members and customers in London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Leicester are making a meaningful difference in our communities. From fundraising initiatives to volunteering days, find out how we’re focussing our community-giving practices across three pillars of impact on a Global, Social and Local level.

GLOBAL

In an increasingly connected world, we are using our position to affect positive change on a global scale through our partnership with Oxfam, with a focus on the climate emergency and humanitarian crises response.

RETAIL VOLUNTEERING

Our team members regularly volunteer in Oxfam stores across the UK, sorting donations, creating window displays and keeping the stores well stocked; ultimately helping build a brighter future for the people who need it most.

FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERING

Through volunteering as stewards, our Selfridges team members have exclusive access to the UK's biggest music festivals, helping to ensure these events run smoothly while supporting Oxfam's vital work.

CATASTROPHE FUND

At the forefront of our long running partnership with Oxfam is our support for the Catastrophe Fund, which enables rapid and immediate response to global crises, including events caused by the effects of climate change and those in need of humanitarian aid.

CUSTOMER ACTIVITY

At Selfridges, we want to inspire customers to engage in responsible consumption, fostering a community that values longevity and thoughtful fashion choices. Through donating ticket proceeds from upcycling events in store and joining forces during second hand September, we find ways for customers to support our sustainability efforts, driven through Reselfridges.

OXFAM TAKES HUGE PRIDE IN OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH SELFRIDGES. YEARS OF EXCITING COLLABORATION AROUND CIRCULAR FASHION HAVE CEMENTED SELFRIDGES AS A CRUCIAL ALLY IN OUR MISSION TOWARDS CREATING A MORE SUSTAINABLE WORLD. SELFRIDGES’ GENEROUS ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION TO OXFAM’S GLOBAL CATASTROPHE FUND SUPPORTS COMMUNITIES TO REBUILD THEIR LIVES AFTER THE WORST EMERGENCIES STRIKE. NONE OF THIS WOULD BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE HUGE DEDICATION OF SELFRIDGES’ PARTNERSHIP AND SUSTAINABILITY TEAMS, AMAZING STAFF VOLUNTEERS, AND WONDERFUL CUSTOMERS.

LOCAL

Homelessness is a key focus for Selfridges when it comes to charity partnerships and we are proud to have worked closely with the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, Centrepoint, for 10 years. Working together, we’re helping to fund housing and provide much-needed support for thousands of vulnerable young people in and around our store cities. Our partnership has also supplied skills and employment support for young people through career events organised by our Recruitment team, providing interview practice and practical tips on CV writing.

SUPPORTING MENTAL HEALTH

In addition to team fundraising and campaigning, our corporate donation funds vital mental health support at Centrepoint through a Senior Psychotherapist and therapeutic services, making a tangible and significant impact on young people in our local communities.

CAREER SUPPORT

Our partnership has also supplied skills and employment support for young people through career events organised by our Recruitment team, providing interview practice and practical tips on CV writing.

DONATE AS YOU DINE

Through our long running 'Donate As You Dine' initiative which sees customers donate a portion of their bill to Streetsmart, we are helping to raise vital funds for youth homelessness projects local to our stores, including Centrepoint and St Basil's in Birmingham.

SLEEPOUT

Since 2016, Selfridges team members have swapped their beds for sleeping bags at Centrepoint's annual flagship event – Sleep Out! By working together to fundraise both in London and Manchester. In 2024, Team Selfridges raised over £10,000 towards supporting young homeless people on their journey towards independence.

CENTREPOINT’S THERAPEUTIC SERVICES TEAM HAS REALLY BENEFITTED FROM THE GENEROUS SELFRIDGES FUNDING. IT HAS ENABLED US TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE MUCH NEEDED PSYCHOTHERAPY SUPPORT AND WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR THE DIFFERENCE IT’S ALLOWED US TO MAKE IN THE LIVES OF THE YOUNG PEOPLE AT CENTREPOINT.

SOCIAL

We are delighted to have established a patron partnership in 2025 with The King’s Trust, (formerly known as The Prince’s Trust) which will see us empower young people facing multiple adversities in their lives to get into education, employment or training. We believe young people should have access to essential life skills, and that is why our joint ambition of encouraging social mobility will be activated through King’s Trust programmes that help individuals get ready for, and have access to job opportunities, or start a business in every country and region of the UK. Through this partnership, we are helping to unlock the potential of the next generation, supporting them to build a better future for themselves and their communities through the world of work.

TEAM MEMBER VOLUNTEERING

All Selfridges colleagues will gain access to The King's Trust online volunteering portal, where they can book on to a variety of placements that suit them. This platform offers our teams a unique way to directly support young people and provide them with a positive, relatable role model.

DIVERSE TALENT

The King's Trust employability programmes empower young people to gain the skills and experience they need to secure sustainable, fulfilling employment that meets their needs and aspirations. With Selfridges' support, we aim to further diversify our young talent internally and make a real difference to the next generation.

GET HIRED PROGRAMME

In 2025, we are working with The King’s Trust to facilitate their Get Hired programme across all of our stores, kickstarting career journeys for up to 50 young people. We are providing unseen access to the world of Selfridges through workshops and one-to-one sessions aided by our recruitment team, as well as inspirational talks hosted by a variety of our team members. In doing so, we are opening up job opportunities to help young people supported by The King’s Trust land their next role here at Selfridges.

WE ARE INCREDIBLY PROUD TO PARTNER WITH SELFRIDGES THIS YEAR IN OUR SHARED MISSION TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE TRANSFORM THEIR FUTURES. AT THE KING'S TRUST, WE BELIEVE EVERY YOUNG PERSON DESERVES THE CHANCE TO SUCCEED, NO MATTER THEIR START IN LIFE. THIS PARTNERSHIP WILL BE CRUCIAL IN EMPOWERING VULNERABLE YOUNG PEOPLE TO OVERCOME BARRIERS, BUILD CONFIDENCE, AND GAIN THE SKILLS NEEDED TO THRIVE IN EDUCATION, WORK, AND BEYOND. TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE A LASTING IMPACT ON THE LIVES OF THOUSANDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE ACROSS THE UK AND HELP CREATE A BRIGHTER, MORE INCLUSIVE FUTURE FOR ALL.
