The Asaka distillery was established in 2015, and today, it remains the only operational whisky producer in Japan's Tohoku region, benefitting from pristine local resources, including water from Lake Inawashiro. The Yamazakura Asaka single malt, limited to just 3,000 bottles, is aged for three years in bourbon casks, imparting complex notes of juicy orange, honey, and vanilla, culminating in an incredibly smooth, lingering finish.
