Knowing the origin of Cognac can be a little confusing. Yes, the grapes blended to create this brandy were grown by Château Fontpinot in Cognac in a region called Grande Champagne – not the one whose name was given to sparkling wine. Golden in colour, the liqueur swirls with notes of candied fruits – starting with sticky prunes and baked apples sprinkled with spices on the nose before transitioning through dried apricots with a kick of ginger on your palate with a warming finish.
