A cult producer of Meursault, Domaine des Comtes Lafon also produce a red wine in the neighbouring village of Volnay. From the Premier Cru vineyard of Santenots, and the classic 2009 vintage, this shows delicate raspberry, dark cherry and blueberry fruits, a splash of minerality and a spark of acidity, plus it’s super silky on the palate – one to pair with veal and game, we say.
