Hermitage Monier de la Seizerrane comes from a blending of different soils in the appellation. It is made up of 'les Bessards', a granitic soil that is said to constitute the 'soul' of a good Hermitage, 'le Méal', which are old alluvial terraces with a lot of more or less calcareous gravels and shingles and ‘les Greffieux’, which is a silty soil with shingles. Round and elegant, the wine has good attack, with concentrated and gentle tannins. It features aromas of blackcurrant, raspberry and spicy pepper.
