When Among Equals says that “every Bilum tells a story,” it’s not for poetic resonance; every individual bag serves as a canvas for each artisan weaver to chronicle their life story with symbolic designs. Handwoven in the heart of Papua New Guinea, the Mountain style is swathed in a zig-zag pattern to reflect the snaking contours of sharp peaks and suspended from a rainbow-hued shoulder strap. To finish, it's stitched with a playful pom-pom and tassel.
