Pierre Balmain founded his namesake label in 1945, opening his first storefront at number 44, Rue François, in the first arrondissement of Paris. Now helmed by Olivier Rousteing, the city’s influence on the label’s aesthetic remains ever-present, as exhibited in pieces like this jumper. Knitted from sumptuous cashmere and shaped to a high-neck silhouette, its stripes are reminiscent of a Parisian mime, but the pièce de résistance has got to be the gold-toned crest appliqué on its front.
