Typically one of the longest lived and best value wines of the Medoc, Château Montrose is based in the east of the St Estephe commune, and typically makes deep coloured, full bodied and structured wines with long term cellaring potential. The 2004 is a blend of predominantly cabernet sauvignon with a third merlot, just a hint of cabernet franc and a whisper of petit Verdot. A swirl around the glass reveals red berries, tar, undergrowth and cedar with a lingering finish.
