The Secacam 3 features a new chip set to ensure improved image processing and compression (H265) for faster transmission and crystal-clear videos. The sensor offers four times the amount of pixels of the Secacam 5/7 to maximise light efficiency a lot better than the other cameras. The camera boasts an Optimised Image Pipeline for 940nm IR photography.
Wider Horizontal FoV
The Secacam 3 offers a 9% wider horizontal field of view but it is narrower in the vertical FoV giving it a 16:9 image/video format. This gives the observer a wider area to observe and an increased chance of identifying additional birds.
Better detection
The Secacam 3 features a new PIR-Fresnel-Lens with a glossy surface making it more reliable as it better transmits and focuses infrared light with less scattering. This ensures more accurate motion detection. The lens also improves the resolution of the sensor so that it is more sensitive to movement and offers up to 5 metres more reach than the 5 and 7 versions.

Always Up to Date
You can keep your Secacam 3 up to date at all times thanks to Over-The-Air (OTA) Firmware upgrades. The camera will automatically check for firmware updates when it is switched on and downloads them. You will then have the option to update the firmware to ensure that you are always up to date even when out in the field.
Greater Control
You can use the Control Photo feature to take photos at specific times even if nothing triggers the motion sensor. This is particularly useful for monitoring specific behaviour without having to take multiple photos throughout the day.
