The Santos de Cartier belt has an expansive history – and it all began with a watch. The eponymous founder crafted the similarly named timepiece in 1904, after promising his friend and pilot Alberto Santos Dumont that he could craft a wristwatch that could be read even with the flare of the sun during flights. Its design would inspire this accessory, which can be seen in the curved silhouette and the exposed hardware, as well as the palladium buckle stamped with miniature screws.
