Before it was an award-winning winery, the Burn Cottage estate was sheep pasture. Since it was transformed in 2002, it has been farmed biodynamically – it’s the only winery in Central Otago to practice this. Moonlight Race is one of the results – this pinot noir is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months to build complexity – you can tell from the nose that’s full of red cherry, rip plum and bramble aromas. There’s more on the palate too, with a clean and pure finish; cheers.
