Mulberry Shoulder Bags

When it comes to covetable shoulder bags, nobody makes them quite like Mulberry. The British brand dates back to 1971, when Roger Saul founded the label from his kitchen table in Somerset with a £500 investment from his parents. And making it a full family affair, his sister designed the instantly recognisable logo. As with the name, the symbol was inspired by the mulberry trees the siblings passed on their way to school every day.

In our collection of Mulberry over-the-shoulder bags, look out for classic all-leather styles that are ultra-smooth to the touch, as well as options with textured surfaces. You'll notice clasps and branded plaques in gleaming brass- or gold-toned hardware. Some Mulberry bags have chunky – or slim – chain straps. Magnetic fastenings, buckles and twist locks keep your belongings safely stowed away inside. The emphasis here is on quality and durability – each accessory is made to last a lifetime.

More than half of the label's bags are created across its two carbon-neutral factories in the south-west of England, where Mulberry supports and trains a community of craftspeople to bring the brand's designs to life. From cross-body styles to oversized satchels, most Mulberry bags are made from responsibly sourced vegetable-tanned leather – just look for the Selfridges Project Earth banner to spot them easily.
