The son of Tunisian wheat farmers, Azzedine
Alaïa's affinity for fashion was nurtured by the glossy pages of Vogue, instilling him with a drive to reach the glittering streets of Paris. Opening his atelier in the late 1970s, the designer electrified the capital with his second-skin silhouettes that question the boundaries between flesh and fabric, just like this knitted crop top. Cut to a high neck silhouette, this body-baring style is softly pooled at the centre with a sinuous wrap pattern.
