Del Maguey make some of the most sought after Mezcals in the world, many of them being produced by individual families in remote villages of Oaxaca, the home of Mezcal. This expression is extremely rare, and is a unique
mezcal based on the tradition of the pechuga, whereby a mezcal is distilled for a third time in the presence of wild fruits, almonds, rice and a whole chicken breast. This bottling however substitutes a leg of Iberico de Bellota ham for the chicken breast, resulting in a complex and savoury style of mezcal, with flavours of wet hay, forest floor, subtle earthy spiciness and wild flowers, supported with some delicate fruit on the finish. Truly extraordinary and very rare indeed, this is a bottle for any lover of fine spirits.
