"Tennessee-based distillery Uncle Nearest releases the 1884 small-batch whiskey. Blended from corn and rye and aged in hand-selected barrels, it honours the first African American master distiller, Nathan ""Nearest"" Green (the man who taught a certain Mr Jack Daniel his trade). On the palate, this spirit is packed with baked apricot, a hint of lemon zest and plenty of buttery vanilla notes, giving way to a long, smoky oak finish."
