Kusuda’s acclaimed
Pinot Noir is highlighted with rose petals and toasted oak, and has lovely long finish. It is whole bunch pressed from hand-picked and meticulously selected grapes, settled for 48 hrs with bentonite, and fermented in a stainless steel tank for three weeks. Hiroyuki Kusuda gave up a career working in the Japanese Consulate General in Sydney in order to pursue his dream to make world class Pinot Noir. After studying winemaking in Germany, he moved to Martinborough in New Zealand's north island in 2001 and established his winery. With tiny quantities made, much of it going to his native Japan, these are cult wines with massive complexity and intensity.
