The clue is in the name; the Mencía and Alicante Bouschet grapes that are blended to create the César Márquez Parajes De Bierzo are sourced from multiple “parajes” or places in Valtuille de Abajo. They’re also grown on vines in Corrullón, Camponaraya, Valtuille de Arriba and a little Palomino from Ponferrada on a mix of clay, sand, stones and slate. The result is aromatic and fresh, swirling with floral, liquorice and juicy red fruit notes.
