This is the latest release of Bollinger's stunning R.D. vintage Champagne, originally launched by Madame Bollinger in 1967. The 2008 bottling is a characterful blend of pinot noir and chardonnay blended from 14 different crus. Fermented entirely in oak barrels (and matured for four times longer than required by the appellation to develop a complex flavour, it offers a nose of honey, brioche and soft spices followed by white plum and walnut on the palate.
