What’s the secret to Mullineux & Leeu’s
Straw Wine? Well, the brand harvests its Chenin grape at the normal ripeness levels to capture a healthy acidity and then leaves them outside in the shade until they are dried and half raisined. The grapes then go on to be fermented in old French barrels with indigenous yeasts. The result? A complex nose and palate that’s filled with a blend of dried peaches, apricots and marmalade and finished with nutty aromas.
