Having begun her career as a pattern cutter, Chitose Abe was already curious about deconstruction within fashion. Now, through her label Sacai, she channels the concept through designs of her own, including this pair of trousers. Bringing together the sartorial and function-forward, she shapes them from twill-textured cotton to a wide-leg silhouette with smart pressed centre creases. Then, they’re fitted with a contrasting panel that runs around the elasticated waistband, concealing the inner drawstring.
