Diamond-quilted shell jacket

Famous for her hybridised aesthetic and atypical silhouettes, Chitose Abe – founder of Tokyo-based label Sacai – cites military styles as the inspiration behind the label’s most recent collection. This jacket, for example, is whisked up in light, quilted shell to a boxy, blouson sleeve silhouette; but it’s in the details such as grosgrain trims, contrasting panels and drawstring-cinched waist that the melange of militaristic, soldierlike influence rears its head.
