The independently run Lochlea does things a little differently. The whisky that leaves the Scottish distillery is meant for drinking, pure and simple—not banished to a collector’s cabinet to gather dust. The Ploughing Edition single-malt Scotch is the finale in an annual series of four seasonal bottlings that highlight the different parts of the barley growing process. Aged in a combination of ex-Islay whisky, and peated quarter casks, it's sweetened with notes of porridge, and fresh baked cookies with hints of apples and boiled sweets on the palate.
