Watch fashion history’s most iconic runway shows

Catwalk performances can both shock and delight, serving as an underrated form of theatre that’s often full of surprises. Despite their exclusive nature, many memorable runway shows from the past are now available to watch online. Whether you choose to check out the rawness of Martin Margiela’s 1989 show, held in a derelict building on the outskirts of Paris, or tuck into the sheer glamour of Thierry Mugler’s 1995 spectacle, there’s something to suit all tastes. Now’s the time to get acquainted – or reacquainted – with fashion’s theatrical past.

Visit the Prada Foundation from home

Teaming up with curational streaming platform MUBI, the Prada Foundation is offering an online alternative to visiting its upcoming exhibitions. Our favourite is Perfect Failures, a curious collection of films that were misunderstood when originally released. Highlights include Charlie Chaplin’s 1967 romantic comedy A Countess from Hong Kong and Kelly Reichardt’s 2013 thriller Night Moves. In addition, the Foundation is publishing unseen interviews, videos and images as part of its experimental events programme.

The ‘Perfect Failures’ film collection is available to view now on the Prada Foundation’s website

Discover daily recommendations from the ICA

Every day at 10am (GMT), curators from the Institute of Contemporary Arts are sharing their favourite films, artworks, reads and more. Past round-ups have included everything from short films honouring the intimacy found within nightclubs to feminist podcasts, critically acclaimed essays and a track of the day. On top of this, the curators often include philanthropic schemes and competitions that provide relief during the current crisis. These include grants for unpublished writers and SWARM’s (the Sex Worker Advocacy and Resistance Movement) hardship fund for sex workers. This is a chance to discover what’s on an art expert’s radar – needless to say, there’s never a dull moment.

Stream the Sarabande’s past talks

The Sarabande Foundation’s star-studded schedule of talks is now available online. Our favourite pick? Award-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood reflecting on her career (which includes winning four Academy Awards, no less) while in conversation with actor Eddie Redmayne. Others from the catalogue include conversations with the head curator of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, Andrew Bolton; artist Grayson Perry; and fashion designer Molly Goddard.
