The story: The camellia was first given to Coco Chanel by her polo-playing lover, Boy Capel, to wear as a brooch because the unscented flower wouldn’t clash with her No.5 perfume.

The story: The collection was inspired by the handcrafted stacked jewellery seen in tribal and African cultures. Layers of iridescent sparkles? What’s not to love.

The story: The beautiful honeycomb-effect diamonds mean light radiates through it.

Last word: It brings a whole new meaning to the compliment: ‘You’re glowing’.

The story: Inspired by the Caribbean Sea, you can almost hear the sound of waves as the diamond-studded tassels swish together.

Last word: ASMR in jewellery form. Oh, and it’s the only one in the world.

 

The Bird on A Rock brooch

What? A striking 37.09ct oval-cut pink tourmaline.

The story: Tiffany & Co legend Jean Schlumberger first designed it in 1956 as the mounting of the ‘Tiffany Diamond’, one of the largest yellow diamonds ever discovered.

Last word: Fly my pretties, this is an iconic piece of Tiffany & Co history – arguably more iconic than the duck-egg-blue box…

What? 18k rose-gold case, textured mother-of-pearl dial, 3.0700ct diamonds, leather strap.

The story: The first to showcase moving diamonds freed from their settings back in 1976 – designer Ronald Kurowski was inspired by the glistening droplets of a waterfall, seen while on a walk in the Black Forest, Germany.

The story: The collection celebrates the relationship between Napoleon I and founding jeweller, Marie-Etienne Nitot, who created bumblebee brooches to signify the emperor’s divine and eternal power.

Last word: The hexagonal links mean they can be stacked with similar pieces in the collection – each hexagon is painstakingly polished by hand, so it catches the light from all angles.

The story: Founded in 1888, Bucherer Fine Jewellery has grown from a small family-owned business into one of the world’s foremost experts in diamond jewellery.

The story: Inspired by the whimsical and romantic style of Marie Antoinette.

The story: The diamonds have been arranged by master craftsmen in Rome to resemble a serpent’s scales.

The story: The supple, open-work maillon links (similar to a carabiner in style) give a soft movement on the wrist, inspired by a panther slinking through the jungle.
